An autoresponder, as used on this web site, is simply an automatically returned email. The user clicks on "announce@svaero.org," or generates a new email to the same address and hits send. The mail server will automatically reply to the sender with an email. Another aviation example is on Aeroplanner.com. Premium (paid) members can email a list of airport identifiers, and it will return NOTAMS. This isn't available to users of the free EAA planner. Our autoresponder returns current SVAA announcements. It will look something like:
"SVAA Autoresponder. Last updated 4/29/13

The final deadline to obtain a plastic certificate to replace the old paper certificates is fast approaching: 31 March.
SVAA dues are $10/year in support of this web site and social events hosted by the SVAA. Dues for 2013 are due.

If you are a member and would like a free email box or mail forward with and address in the form anythingyouwant@svaero.org (N1234X@svaero.org for example) drop a note to the web master indicating what you would like your address to be and whether a POP mailbox or a forward. If a forward, indicate what address you want it to be sent to. If a mailbox, I will return setup instructions to you.
